I stumbled upon two really cute costumes that I wanted to share.
The first are these two little yetis. So cute!! Thanks I Love The Yeti.

The second is this little cupcake girl. I would just wear that hat from day to day… Okay, realistically, probably not, but it’s still really cute.

Acoustic listening devices developed for the Dutch army as part of air defense systems research between World Wars 1 and 2. They look really futuristic to me.

Who says you can’t be anything you want to be when you grow up? Even if that dream is to one day be a building. These adorable kids in Brooklyn, New York dressed up as The Guggenheim, The New Museum, and The Whitney for Halloween. They win in my book for best costumes this year.
Thanks Archpaper!

Deconstruct and reconstruct the old, the future of fashion lies in recycling. I’m in love with a Venice store called Madley, whose designer does just that. All one of a kind pieces with a nostalgia for the past and a futuristic edge, the aesthetics ring princess from a distant land or sea. Check it out.

I recently helped Fantasy IRL blogger Amanda shoot photos for her makeup artist portfolio (website coming soon). For this particular series, we were going for a sort of android/retro/Stepford wife kinda thing. Since I was actually in these photos, we had our friend Justin (also known as sunnyheadcase on this blog) shoot them on my Nikon D90. They were shot at Amanda’s house, which was built in the 1950′s, the perfect location for such a shoot.
The concept was pretty simple. I’m an android women that lonely men can buy and take as their wife. When you first buy me, I come naked and without hair. I also come with a set of three wigs that you can switch in and out at your leisure. The creepy husband/Italian Futurist-looking guy is played by my boyfriend, Joey. Thank to Joey and Justin for helping us out!

Have you ever had the suspicion that you might be the famous masked caped crusader, but have never quite been sure? Well fear not!! Just consult this flow chart to see if you are the real Batman. It is also a shirt that can be purchased here. It also comes in eleven different colors.

“Tom Elverston decided to make his own pair of black leather dust goggles — tres Mad Max — from an old leather jacket and some pieces of tempered and UV resistant glass from halogen ‘puck style’ lights.” Go here for all of the directions.

Just what ever cosplayer needs!! As you can see, they appear to be just normal cat ears, but with a secret headphone surprise connected to the ends, so you can listen to music and look super cute at the same time!!
I can’t imagine wearing them everyday, but maybe to a convention like AX. They are a really cute idea though.

Thank you sunnyheadcase for submitting this link.

“Sneaker freaker” Daniel Reese, also known as Brass Monki, designs custom shoes featuring characters from of your favorite games and films. While he’ll definately make you a pair with any of his featured designs, he’s open to custom jobs at his clients’ requests. Here are a few of my favorites.

High end Italian designer Antonio Berardi has created a monster! Heel-less heels and boots! I do have to say, however, if they were not so incredibly expensive, they would serve as a great base for my dranei hoof shoes I am still yet to make. Most would think these strange futuristic-looking footwear would be difficult to walk in and an easy sprained ankle or even a broken neck. Quite the contrary, Berardi has mastered the balance and distribution of weight on the solitary platform, the same method I will be using when creating platform hooves. Although I’m sure his creations will stand to be more luxiourious than mine! -_-
Check out Antonio Berardi’s other mythical fashions here.
