I Fight Dragons covers the theme from Legend of Zelda. Performance complete with nerdy guys wearing geeky glasses and beautiful princess in need of saving.
Kate Bush is one of my favorite outlandish musicians. Almost as much as Bjork. Wouldn’t it be awesome if she was actually an alien from a theatrical, campy planet? Maybe she’s from the same galaxy as Lady Gaga…FantasyIRL to form intergalactic alliance of aliens turned pop stars!
(directed by Chris Cunningham, who I very much enjoy)
So Wrockstock is finally here, and after much waiting and anticipation I was very disappointing to discover that is in in Missouri. WTF?!?!?!? I was looking so forward to going this year. Maybe next year when I’m not broke. :[ Or maybe they’ll bring it to California. I smell a petition. Well if you are in the Missouri on November 6-9th and are in the area please check it out and tell us all about it.
Along with the bands, there will be various activities, such as “Craft Alley” “Wampum Willow” and “The Third Annual Wrockstock Quidditchstravaganza”.
This is pretty ridiculous and I feel requires little to no explanation.
Unfortunately, this hits very close to home with me. I was harassed quite a bit from people wanting to do naughty things to my Night Elf when I played World of Warcraft. Ah sweet memories…
Just what ever cosplayer needs!! As you can see, they appear to be just normal cat ears, but with a secret headphone surprise connected to the ends, so you can listen to music and look super cute at the same time!!
I can’t imagine wearing them everyday, but maybe to a convention like AX. They are a really cute idea though.
“Josh Koury’s documentary “We Are Wizards” delves into the genre of Wizard Rock. As homespun as the fan culture it celebrates, it’s an endearing snapshot of the freaks and geeks who’ve made a place for themselves in the Potter fan-verse.
True fandom knows no bounds. The evolution of fan culture is not a trajectory that can be measured or predicted.”
“The world of Wrock is not just geeky, but also strives to be socially conscious. Joe and Paul know that their elementary school fan base looks up to them as idols, and they try to promote literacy in the true spirit of Rowling’s best-selling series.”
“Among the many things about Jackson that caught the public’s imagination in the 1990s was the way he turned his body into a kind of science fiction story. He became an enhanced human, using plastic surgery and pharmaceuticals to change his face and seemingly his race as well. He became whiter than most white people, and his pale bandaged skin became his trademark.
Jackson was a post-human celebrity, and nowhere was this more obvious than in his video “Black or White” (directed by John Landis). Once again, Jackson turned to one of the greatest minds in science fiction to help with the video. He used the morphing software used by James Cameron for The Abyss and Terminator 2 to create a memorable and oft-copied scene where dozens of people’s faces morph into each other, streaming through different racial identities, ages, and genders with an uncanny ease.”
Michael Jackson was living, breathing proof that if you’re driven enough (and you have the resources), you can really be anyone, or thing, you want to be. From his body transformations to his fantastical music videos and his deep love for the kind of dreams most abandon after childhood, he was a man that truly sought to create and live out fantasy irl.
I found this on YouTube a while ago. It’s called Mario Kart Love Song…I think it’s pretty self explanatory. Besides being one of the most cleverly written songs I’ve ever heard, it’s probably the sweetest. Check it out!!
